Guy Throws Gender Reveal And Consequently Walks Out When It Doesn’t Go His Way
An expectant father angered social media after storming out of the unborn baby’s reveal party upon learning the child’s gender.
The 33-year-old man, who already has a 5-year-old daughter, took to Reddit’s “Am I The A**hole” forum to seek advice after upsetting his 34-year-old wife and his in-laws with his outburst, during what was meant to be a special occasion.
“She’s been grouchy her whole pregnancy so her sister offered to plan her a gender reveal party,” the man began, more or less already on the wrong foot.

Look, there’s a lot of names we could throw at this guy, and he’d deserve every single one of them. Ah, fuck it. Let’s name a few. Douchebag! Weenie! Little binch boy! Casual misogynist! Pouty fuckface! Little pee pee man! If there’s anything I hate more than a weenie, it’s a weenie throwing a pity party. Get a fucking grip dude. Your wife is pregnant, you’re about to have a second kid, and you’re out here throwing a male-heir-deprived temper tantrum like Henry VIII.
Reddit and the world wide web are deservedly ripping this guy a new asshole for pretty tone-deaf, gendered, sexist, and overall problematic comments/excuses for why he flipped out. Boohoo dude. You’re having another daughter. Guess you gotta kiss those traditional gender norms goodbye! Pull yourself together, ya big pussy. This isn’t fuckin’ 1309 where you could just toss kids down the well because they had too many freckles. We’ve evolved. The craziest thing is this dude’s “dated” attitude isn’t even the worst part.
WHO THE FUCK HAS A GENDER REVEAL IF YOU AREN’T GONNA BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH THE REVEAL. The reveal’s a key part of this whole GD thing, man! Some would say, THE key part. A 50-50 shot that you’re either the happiest you’ve ever been (expected behavior at a gender reveal) or so upset you have to leave (problematic behavior at a gender reveal) is a sign you should opt for a more private affair. Those are terrible odds. 50-50 shot I find a million dollars in a bag or get flattened by a bus, I’m probably not gonna go for it! Now, if this was a 99-1 type deal, where say: he’s at this gender reveal expecting to discover if he’s expecting a son or daughter, and instead he finds out he’s having a ferret. That’s acceptable news to flip out to, and acceptable odds to still throw the gender reveal! I think gender reveals have entered that level of pop culture fame that people are just throwing them without looking in the mirror for a second and thinking about whether it’s a good idea. Just like that friend of yours from high school that made a Tik Tok account. Neither of these things are for everybody.
There has to be a moment where you pause before asking the question “Am I The Asshole” and realize, “I am. I am the asshole” and just spare yourself the public humiliation. It doesn’t take that much self awareness to realize that you are completely in the wrong here. What can I say dude, it sucks to be you! Not only are you having a daughter (ew gross!) the internet wants to murder you! Anyway, I’m sure this guy will be a great dad (I am absolutely not sure) and I wish him luck explaining this to his many future daughters!
