Big Mystery: Dump Truck Runs Into Highway Sign: I Think I Solved The Mystery
PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- A dump truck's bed hit a freeway sign on the Loop 202 near the Southern exit in the West Valley Tuesday around 5:17 a.m.
No information has been released on how this happened. DPS is continuing to investigate. A truck inspector was brought to the scene as well to help investigators. It could be related to a hydraulics issues according to DPS but not for sure yet.
Full story here.
I assume that the mystery here is how the back of the truck was raised. Because in terms of how the collision happened..I mean.. do I have to say it.. the back was up. That’s how it happened. There’s no mystery.
Keep in mind, I have zero experience as a dump truck driver. So I’m going to make a few assumptions.
First off, I’m assuming that the back was up prior to hitting the giant highway sign.
Second, I assume that as the driver, you can see when the back is up. You’ve got huge mirrors, and it’s not small change in the truck! There’s an entire piece of machinery that is no longer lying flight, but rather standing straight up in the air!
Third, I assume that if you are blind, or at the very least distracted or drunk, you can hear the back going up. You’re telling me there’s no grinding! YOu’re telling me there’s no beeps! This isn’t the prius of dump trucks, guys. It’s not necessarily a vehicle lauded for its stealth.
So again, I could be wrong, but putting all of these together it kind of seems like the driver was just an idiot! Unless the mystery is how many sips for the bourbon teet our driver had, it’s been solved. I mean I guess we can rule out the fact that the dude put up the back intentionally and just decided to take the ol’ baby for a spin down the interstate. Regardless, I’ll be following this one for the next few days as the authorities try to get to the bottom of it. But again, I’ve already solved this. Unless of course I’m wrong, in which case I’m kidding.
