Student Mimics Lebron James’ Chalk Throw: Entire Campus Evacuated For Anthrax Scare
A building on the campus of the University of Central Florida was evacuated Wednesday after a student mimicked Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James' pregame ritual of tossing chalk in the air.
According to A.J. Perez of USA Today, UCF Police Department chief Richard Beary explained the decision to evacuate: "We think it was some kind of stunt ... but unfortunately with the current threat situation the way it is, our fire partners are treating it as a hazmat situation. We are in the process of doing that."
The UCF Police Department later confirmed on Twitter that the powder used in the stunt was baby formula.

Talk about escalating a situation. Kids can’t even imitate Lebron anymore. Tossing chalk in the air and suddenly everybody thinks you’re tossing anthrax on yourself. Really goes to show you that the 2001 anthrax attacks really ruined things for everyone. Got to be careful around powdered donuts. Got to be cautious when using rock climbing chalk. Got to be careful imitating Lebron. Got to be careful spilling Cocaine. God, we can’t do anything anymore! All white powder is anthrax and that’s that. It’s just hilarious to me that this kid: blonde, white, wearing a Lebron heat jersey, so an absolute loser, tries to pull of an already lame publicity stunt and suddenly you’ve got HAZMAT teams searching campus for you. A great story at the bar in five years, not a great day to be having today.
Thanks a lot, Lebron.
